The Leader I Admire

The leader that I admire the most is the current leader of China, Mr Xi Jin Ping. Mr Xi Jinping was born in Beijing on 15 June 1953. He is the son of Chinese Communist veteran Xi Zhong Xun. Unfortunately in 1963 when Mr Xi was 10 years old, his father was being purged by Mao Zedong and was sent to a factory as a hard labour. In 1968 during the Cultural Revoulution, his father was then sent to jail. Without any chance of furthering his studies, Mr Xi went to the countryside to work as a farm labour. During his time as a labour, Mr Xi was an avid reader. Rather than wasting time during the free time, he spent it on books. His colleagues at the labour camp described him as a quiet and hardworking man. He later became the Party branch secretary of the production team, leaving that post in 1975. Mr Xi then continued his studies in Tsing Hua University. After his studies, Mr Xi got involved in politics. He slowly rose up the ranks of the communist party and finally became the leader of China.

The reason why I admire him so much is because he is a man of determination. During his time as a labour worker, he worked hard and studied in order to get out of that situation. Being in a labour camp didn’t affect his spirit and determination to live a better life. Besides that, I also admire him because he cared for his country and citizens. Upon becoming the leader of China, one of the first thing that he did is to start an anti-corruption campaign which saw lots of high rank officials being arrested for corruption.

So this are the reasons why I admire Mr Xi Jin Ping so much.
