 Rice Inside a Bamboo Trunk!

Well! This is basically a traditional food for the Malay Race in Malaysia to called

πŸ˜‹πŸ˜„" Lemang! "πŸ‘πŸ˜„
You'll  usually see this being made during festive seasons typically during Edi Fitr or Edi Adha!


Now! You might be asking...." It's not just rice is it? "
Well.. Your correct! Its a mixture of coconut milk and glutinous rice! To contain the mixture we use banana leaves.

Now as you can see from the pictures~ To cook it you need to make a big fire and use the heat to cook them! And the process usually takes about 4-5 hours to cook but in some cases when the spot is kinda windy it can drag up to 7 hour!



He is turning the Lemang for even heating!
Also wiping off any ash or debris on it!



The coconut milk is boiling!😰😰
It may look easy but trust me its quite challenging due to the heat
and the duration!

 BUT! Its a good experience!And its one of those activities where we Malays can tighten ties with our relatives!  







At the end of the day it was a fun experience!
