A STEP INTO THE MARITIME INDUSTRY

            Maritime Industry ? What is that ? I was a young boy whom did not know a thing about the maritime industry.  All I knew when i heard maritime was fisherman, that"s all, nothing further. 

           Years passed, then one fine day, at about the age of 12, I had a school project.  It was to ask your family members of their current career.  Once arrived home, i asked my father, mother, and my uncle, my fathers younger brother.  He then told me he is a mariner.  That was the first ever time i heard this word "A MARINER".  This word has caught my attention.  I was suddenly interested in knowing more, as this profession sounds unique than the rest. 

             He used to tell me his stories.  Where he began his career journey until where is he now.  After telling me his stories, he usually left home for months and return after a long time.  That's when i realized that this career requires you to be away from home for a very long time.  But, despite that factor, the rest information about this career gravitated my interest towards it. I saw mariners as heroes then on wards.  

             After a few years, upon graduating from high school, i applied for a placement at the Malaysian Maritime Academy, the same destination my uncles journey began.  I wanted to be the same hero my uncle was, wanted someone else to see me the same way in saw him.  

             The first few weeks of enrollment was the toughest days of my life. With a semi regimental system, the daily  routine was tight, schedule was extremely pack, and there was lack of time for a shut eye.  But, that was the nature of the job.  In addition,  whatever undertaking you do, it will never be like home.  

              I meet the most amazing individuals whom i call friends today.  They gave me motivation, they drive me crazy with their jokes and are always there when things fall apart.  I learnt alot upon entering this Academy.  It formed be into becoming a discipline, well groomed, and punctual individual.  Wait a minute, this is just the beginning.  In a years time, i will proceed to sea.  I will be stepping into the working arena.  I will be learning corporate skills and compromising skills.  Theres more to see and more to come.
              As far till this moment and i believe for the moment to come, the maritime industry is a great platform for a career path. I would like to follow the career path of mu uncle.  Cant wait to navigate myself to sea  #1YEARTOSAIL
